Taylor is a kids yoga teacher. She is passionate about making yoga and mindfulness practice accessible to kids. She connects organizations with yoga teachers so that their kids can have this opportunity. Her organization, Yogees holds this mission at its core. She is a hoot to spend time with and has a laugh that reverberates in my heart still! I was so happy to meet her and get to capture some portraits for her on my recent trip to Dallas.
I loved working with Erin, because she was so willing to show up and be seen. No matter where we adventured or what I asked her to do, she was gung ho, and so open. Her sparkly eyes and infectious smile kept me feeling so inspired and joyful. Working with Erin was a true pleasure! I was so honored that she asked me to capture some portraits for her at this powerful time of her life!
Jessica Headey-Gandolfi is a writer. She is currently publishing a children’s book, and has a fantastic blog. I met Jessica, because she and my dear friend Teresa (who I have also had the pleasure of photographing), invited me to be a guest on their podcast, Hiking in Heals. I instantly felt drawn to her bright and charismatic personality, and was thrilled that she hired me to do a personal branding portrait session. We had the most beautiful experience laughing and traipsing around Marina Del Rey for our session! One of the things I love the most about working with women like Jessica, is the life-long friendships that are formed. I ams o grateful!
One of the greatest joys for me as a photographer is capturing the beauty and soulful essence of women who are in their element and in their power. My annual ‘goddess shoot’ with Harmony Scott Jewelry Design is one of the times where I am guaranteed to experience this blessing in spades! The ladies at HSJD always rustle up some of the most gorgeous and accomplished women of the roaring fork valley to model for our shoots. We started this annual shoot a while back whenever I came home to Colorado for my summer trip. It has become a wonderful tradition that I look very forward to!
This year Harmony herself was abroad on business, so her trusty team spearheaded the shoot. Crystal and Claire did an amazing job setting it all up, despite the fact that we had to change locations twice, and ended up shooting amidst thunder, lightening and rain. There were some challenges for me as a photographer (mainly the super low light that resulted from dark thunder clouds), but between my hearty gear, the positive attitude of our models, and the efficiency of Claire and Crystal as stylists, it was a huge success!!!
I am very grateful to have had this time with all of these beautiful women in a place that is my heart’s home.
Erin is a beautiful soul who has an amazing wellness company called Pure Light Wellness. Being with Erin is like basking in the most beautiful light. She is the real deal.....down to earth, warm, authentic and loving! I loved every minute of our sacred portrait session on the streets of Venice, CA!
This is one of the first sacred portrait sessions I did this year with the specific goal of showcasing the beauty and strength of a woman entering gracefully into her forties. We wanted to make tangible Harmony'sinner spirit through all of these images. It was a true collaboration. Harmony is a brave soul to share herself in this way, and I was so honored to be a part of her journey! She is one of the most beautiful women I know, inside and out, and her fierce yet tender nature shows perfectly through these images! The jewelry she is wearing is all designed and made by her.....original designs that you can find on her website for Harmony Scott Jewelry Design.
I feel so very blessed to have this woman in my daily life. We serendipitously met over a year ago, and since then she has become one of my dearest friends and soul sisters. Whether we are sailing to Catalina, hanging out having deep talks, cracking up over some silly shenanigan, she graces my life with more than I could ever put into words. She is an angel on this earth who exudes love and compassion out of every pore of her being. When she walks into a room, it lights up and you feel better for sharing any moment with her. She touches everyone she comes into contact with with her grace and beauty. When I count my blessings, I count her as one of the most treasured. I was so honored to be chosen to capture some images of her as she enters into her 30’s!!
Being around Karla one cannot help but feeling energized and inspired. Herjoie de vivre is completely contagious. When I arrived and she started pulling out brightly colored fabrics like a kid in a candy store, I couldn'thelp but giggle out loud. I felt so inspired as I followed her around with my camera taking in her light and joyful energy. Karla is extremely creative and passionate about what she does. She creates patterns for local clothing designers, and has lovingly and expertly been doing so for over 10 years. I loved being invited into her studio for a glimpse into her colorful world and her creative process! Here are some images from our time together. She is wearing dresses that are her clients' designs.....perfectly feminine and functional if you ask me!!!
Gay is a soulful artist who was gracious enough to invite me into her lovely studio. I felt so excited to be able to memorialize a glimpse into her creative process. I am always so honored to be invited into someone's sacred space. As an artist myself, I know how vulnerable it can be to invite someone into your studio. It is a precious thing to share though despite that vulnerability, because sharing our process is like providing a glimpse into our own soul. That sharing can only enhance the lives of others and encourage them to do the same (or so I hope). I love doing personal branding sessions like this, because I get to share, though my lens, the beauty of another, and what they have to offer the world.
I had a great trip to Virginia to photograph this lovely young lady (who happens to be my cool step sister) for her modeling agency comp card. She needed a variety of looks including head shots and full length shots. I love doing portrait photography sessions like this, because we got to try out a bunch of different looks. We also had to shoot mid-day, so it was a fun challenge for me to find just the right light in our outdoor locations!
Where do I even start with this experience, with these amazing women? Being in the room with these people, even without being on a mat, was still like practicing yoga. The love and connection in the room was palpable, The teachings shared by each of the amazing teachers were so inspiring. It wasthe perfect thing to do on a Sunday! I am so honored to have had the opportunity to offer my services to support this amazing organization. Please check them out and get involved if you can. Jule is the coolest!!!!!!Check her out on her website here! We had the best time shooting some head shots for her, one of which ended up in Origin Magazine when they featured her! She is a beautiful soul and an inspiring teacher of NIA. If you haven't experienced NIA or Jule's teaching, please check out her classes at Move Studio in Dallas.
On a lost bet this brave woman hired me to shoot some portraits taken to submit a comp card for a modeling agency. I think she was a little nervous at first, but as we got shooting around Deep Ellum, she became like an old pro! We had the best time, and I applaud her bravery. I think she is stunning, and was so honored to be able to shoot some portraits for her next adventure!
Ah how I love Harmony! We have been friends for over 20 years. I have watched her build her business from the very beginning. I am so incredibly proud of and inspired by her! She hired me to do a shoot with a gorgeous model from Brazil to showcase some of her latest designs. It was a great afternoon in the mountains!!
Haley is one of my favorite models! She volunteered to model for some demo shots I needed to do for my Senior Portrait Class at Spot Studio. It was a joy, as always to work with her!
